German Immigrants: Lists of Passengers Bound from Bremen to New York, 1847 - 1854. Gary J. Zimmerman. (1985) 175 pp.

The original lists of emigrants leaving Bremen were destroyed during World War II.

However, this work is based on passenger lists of vessels arriving at New York, now in the custody of the National Archives. Not all Bremen passengers of the 1847-1854 period are included--only those for whom a specific place of origin is given, about 35,000 immigrants.

The immigrants' names are arranged in alphabetical order, and family members are grouped together, usually under the head of household. Details concerning age, date of arrival, and the name of the ship are provided, as are specific citations to the original source material.

Genealogical.com publishes genealogy books and CDs.
